Chief of the Romanian Naval Forces Visits the Hydrographic Institute

Following the visit of the Chief of the Romanian Naval Forces to the Portuguese Navy, the Hydrographic Institute (HI) received a visit yesterday from Vice-Admiral Mihai Panait, accompanied by the Chief of Staff of the Navy, Admiral Gouveia e Melo.

During the visit to the HI, the most recent capabilities in maritime technology were presented, highlighting the practical application of remote monitoring systems and state-of-the-art sensors. Vice-Admiral Mihai Panait also had the opportunity to visit a static exhibition featuring the new scientific equipment of the Hydrographic Institute, acquired under the Recovery and Resilience Program.

In the afternoon, the Chief of the Romanian Naval Forces visited the NATO Maritime GEOMETOC Centre of Excellence (MGEOMETOC COE), the NATO Center of Excellence located at the facilities of the HI.
