The 7th Conference on Hydrographic Engineering and the 2nd Luso-Spanish Conference on Hydrography are over

The 7th Hydrographic Engineering Conference and 2nd Luso-Spanish Hydrographic Conference, jointly organized by the Hydrographic Institute (IH) of the Portuguese Navy and the Hydrographic Institute of the Spanish Navy (IHM), which took place at the IH from the 21st to the 23rd of this month, ended yesterday.

In the 88 papers - which are available in a preliminary version of the Proceedings Book of these days in the respective internet portal - multiple projects and areas of ongoing research in the field of knowledge of the sea were addressed.

It is intended that the results of this scientific research work, presented by the 271 authors who participated in the Conference, contribute to a greater and deeper knowledge of the sea and the potential that this environment holds for Portugal. The sharing of knowledge and experiences between specialists and interested parties, belonging to public or private entities, is one of the ways to develop the capacity of institutions like the IH to pursue its mission.

The IH and the IHM are pleased with the results achieved in these days and launch, from now on, the challenge for all interested parties to participate in the next edition of the Hydrographic Engineering Days and the Luso-Spanish Hydrographic Days, which should take place in 2024, at the IHM, Cadiz.
