Sea water temperature in Algarve above the average of the last 10 years
The network of buoys from the integrated environmental monitoring system of the Hydrographic Institute (MONIZEE) has recorded, in recent days, a significant increase in the sea surface temperature in the Algarve, with Faro reaching a maximum of 25.1°C.
However, the historical maximum for the last 10 years has not yet been surpassed, with the record still held by the Faro Coastal buoy (CSA82/D) of 26.5°C, reached on July 28, 2016, and the Faro Oceanic buoy (CSA81) of 26.3°C, reached on September 6, 2021.
