The closing ceremony of the Blue Ocean scientific expedition was held on 24 June in Faial. This mission, which took place over 20 days, was attended by scientists from various institutions and was organized by the Oceano Azul Foundation in collaboration with the Portuguese Navy, through the Hydrographic Institute, the Regional Government of the Azores, the University of the Azores and the Mission Structure for the Extension of the Continental Shelf (EMEPC).

At the end of this ceremony, a cooperation protocol was signed between the Hydrographic Institute and the Blue Ocean Foundation, with the main objective of promoting collaboration between the parties in the development of activities and projects related to the marine environment.
