General Staff of the Armed Forces and Armed Forces Branches visit to CMETOC

The Hydrographic Institute (HI) received, this Friday, January 26, 2018, the visit of a technical team, composed of military personnel of the General Staff of the Armed Forces and of the Armed Forces Branches, with the objective of knowing the operational capabilities of the new Naval Meteorological and Oceanographic Center, recently created in the Navy.

The mission of the Meteorological and Oceanographic Naval Center (CMETOC) is to ensure the management and availability of GEOMETOC information, which is essential for the planning and conduct of the Navy's operations and the activities of the HI. The CMETOC also promotes research, scientific and technological development and innovation in the field of GEOMETOC products and systems for military decision-making.
