Portuguese Navy Holds Technical Meetings with DAMEN SHIPYARDS on the New Multipurpose Naval Platform Vessel

As part of the contract for the supply of a Multipurpose Naval Platform Vessel, a series of technical meetings took place this week at the Directorate of Ships and the Hydrographic Institute. These meetings included the participation of specialists from DAMEN SHIPYARDS, the team overseeing and monitoring the contract execution, and members of the Hydrographic Institute. During the meetings, key technical and scientific issues essential to the project's progress were discussed.

This new Multipurpose Naval Platform, the NRP Dom João II, represents one of the pillars of the Navy's investment within the context of the Atlantic Defense Operations Center and Naval Platform, as outlined in the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR).

The NRP Dom João II will be dedicated to protecting and enhancing the economic value promoted by the Ocean's ecosystem services.
