Navy honored the 15 crew of the Roberto Ivens Minesweeper

The mines had been dropped by a German submarine to bar access to the port of Lisbon.
The wreck of the ship was identified in February 2016, 9 miles to SSW of Bugio, in a hydrographic campaign carried out by the Hydrographic Institute and promoted by the Navy Cultural Commission, in collaboration with the New University of Lisbon, in the context of the centenary commemorations of the Entry of Portugal in the First World War.

The video was shared during the ceremony to honor the Navy and includes images of the wreckage obtained earlier this month by the Hydrographic Institute from the ROV (Remotely Operated Submarine Vehicle). Briefly, we will release an explanatory film with images of the multi-beam data obtained during the ship identification campaign.
