Maintenance of the Buoy CSA93 - Selvagens Islands
A team of two members of the Hydrographic Institute boarded the NRP João Roby between July 14 and 16 to carry out the maintenance of the CSA93 buoy, located off the Selvagens Islands, in the Madeira archipelago.
This mission, which was supported by all on-board personnel including two divers, consisted of replacing the float at the bottom with a new float, with the same characteristics, in order to ensure its operation in good working order.
The CSA93 buoy allows monitoring the sea agitation and surface temperature off the Selvagens Islands, also contributing to the conservation of this Natural Reserve. The data are sent, in real time, to the Hydrographic Institute, and are made available to the entire community in general at;
