LTH On Flores Island and Corvo
The Hydrographic Brigade (BH) initiated a top-hydrographic survey on the island of Flores on June 10, 2018.
This work is carried out in cooperation between the Regional Government of the Azores, the Blue Ocean Foundation and the Hydrographic Institute (IH), and is essential to obtain up-to-date hydrographic information, dating from 1963 to plumb line, complementing, in the near areas of land, the hydrographic survey already carried out by the ship NRP Almirante Gago Coutinho.
A multidisciplinary team of 5 elements of the BH are involved in this mission, and two elements belonging to the "Águas Vivas" vessel of the Regional Government, where a multi-beam system (SMF) was installed. The team has carried out simultaneous surveys and surveys.
