Topo-hydrographic survey of the Azores

The Hydrographic Brigade is still on mission in the Azores. This is the account of one of our own:

"Brigadier" | n. m. (hydrographic slang)
1. A member of the hydrographic brigade;
2. One who probes, surveys, come sun, rain, or sea;
3. A person with an ability to create gadgets in short periods of time so that high precision work can be performed;
4. Who is effective, efficient, and skillful in solving complicated or unexpected situations = dispatched, expeditious.

Our brigadeiros arrived on the island of Terceira 6 days ago after completing the hydrographic survey in Faial. After 15 days of field work and a 7-hour trip between islands, the team feels a sense of mission accomplished.
Now, with a smaller team and with the presence of students from the Specialization Course in Hydrography and Oceanography, we continue our topographic-hydrographic survey on Terceira island.
The objective of the work is to obtain bathymetric data around Terceira's coastline and its main ports. This data will serve for the planning of the Azorean maritime space as well as for updating the nautical charts in force.

Leave your message to the Brigadeiros in Terceira!
