Hydrographic Institute visits ports of Figueira da Foz and Aveiro
The General Director of the Hydrographic Institute (IH), contra-almirante João Paulo Ramalho Marreiros, accompanied by the Technical Director of the Hydrographic Institute, capitão-de-fragata João Paulo Delgado Vicente, visited this Wednesday, December 14th, the ports of Figueira da Foz and Aveiro, at the invitation of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of those ports, Doctor Eduardo Feia.
The main objectives of the visit were to reinforce cooperation between the IH and the two ports, in order to guarantee navigation safety, ensuring maritime accessibility and safeguarding the environment of those ports, discussing ways to improve the exchange of technical-scientific information on interest to both parties, namely relevant information for the production and updating of nautical cartography (paper and electronic) and official hydrographic cartography.
The Ports of Figueira da Foz and the Ports of Aveiro assume the mission of providing competitive access for goods to regional, national and international markets, promoting the economic development of their region.
