Hydrographic Institute participates in the fight against pollution "ATLANTIC POLEX.PT 2017 exercise

The Hydrographic Institute (IH) will participate in the "ATLANTIC POLEX.PT 2017" pollution control exercise that will take place on October 18 and 19, in Vila Real de Santo António.

This year is carried out with the involvement of agencies of the General Directorate of Maritime Authority, Maritime Police, R & D centers and companies at national and international level. The IH will be represented by a team from the Marine Chemistry and Pollution Division.
On the 18th, the IH team will present a lecture in the area of sampling, analysis and identification of correlations with samples of potential polluters during the seminar on "Preservation of the marine environment", to be conducted during this exercise. On the 19th, you will participate in the various scenarios, one in the offshore and four in the coastal zone, to collect samples at the site of the "polluting spot".
