Hydrographic Institute participates in the EURAMET-TC meeting

The Hydrographic Institute and the Portuguese Quality Institute were present at the EURAMET / Metrology in Chemistry Meeting that took place at the Laboratoire National de Métrologie et d'Essais, in Paris. The Metrology in Chemistry group is divided into several subgroups, with the Hydrographic Institute participating as the designated Institute in the inorganic analysis subgroup and the Portuguese Quality Institute participating in the gas analysis and electrochemistry subgroups.

During the meetings, EURAMET activities were presented, a review of measurement and calibration capacities was carried out, a review of ongoing European Metrology Program for Innovation and Research projects and the presentation of new projects to be submitted within the scope of the EURAMET call European Partnership on Metrology Calls 2023.

Participation in these meetings allows the Hydrographic Institute and the Portuguese Quality Institute to respond to emerging areas of our society, namely in industry, environment and health, contributing to the dissemination of new developments and needs in the area of Chemical Metrology, as well as to have a privileged position for financing actions aimed at metrological development, as exemplified by the participation since November 2022, of the Division of Chemistry and Pollution of the Marine Environment in the PlasticTrace project.
