Hydrographic Institute participates in the MICRO2024 conference

The Portuguese Navy participated in the MICRO2024 - Plastic Pollution from MACRO to Nano conference, which took place from September 23 to 27 in Lanzarote, Spain.

The goal of the MICRO2024 conference is to bring together the growing community of scientists and policymakers concerned with the challenge of plastic pollution, from macro to nano, with a main focus on microplastics.

The Hydrographic Institute, through the Division of Chemistry and Marine Pollution, participated in the conference with a poster presentation titled Development of analysis methods - sample preparation and analysis, for the measurement of SMPs > 10 µm in environmental samples (SPM). This work is being developed within the scope of the PLASTICTRACE project, and the presentation was delivered by TS Carla Palma.
