Hydrographic Institute participates in an international congress
The Hydrographic Institute participated in the "2nd International Conference on Seafloor Landforms, Processes, and Evolution," which took place from June 30 to July 4 in Lipari, Italy.
This international scientific meeting, organized by the University of Milano-Bicocca, MBARI, University of Kiel, University of Malta, and the Submarine Geomorphology Working Group of the International Association of Geomorphologists (IAG), aimed to: • Serve as a forum for sharing current knowledge of marine processes; • Describe global research trends in the field of Marine Geomorphology; • Promote communication and collaboration among researchers, students, industry professionals, government agencies, and NGOs.
The Hydrographic Institute was represented through two oral presentations by the Marine Geology Division, titled "Textural and compositional cross-shore changes along clinoform architectures - NE Madeira Island shelf" and "Morphological expression of erosional, depositional, volcanic and tectonic processes on volcanic island shelves: insights from analysis of multibeam bathymetry," presented by Senior Technician Sandra Moreira and Researcher Rui Quartau.
