Hydrographic Institute of the Spanish Navy Visits the Hydrographic Institute
The Director of the Hydrographic Institute of the Spanish Navy (IHM), Captain Salvador Espinosa Gonzalez-Llanos, accompanied by their Technical Secretary, Commander José María Bustamante, and their Chief of External Relations, Lieutenant Commander Luis Javier Gomez Saavedra, visited the IH between September 12th and 14th.
The visit served to plan and define cooperation actions, continuing the collaboration between the two institutes. The defined actions aim to share knowledge, procedures, and experiences to improve the response capabilities in activities under the responsibility of both institutes, as well as optimizing available resources for work carried out in areas of common interest.
It is worth noting the intention of both institutes to plan joint work on the Guadiana River in 2024 to enable training, education, and experience sharing, especially in the operation of autonomous vehicles, and the acquisition of top-hydrographic data with the goal of co-producing a new edition of the nautical chart for the ports of Vila Real de Santo António, Ayamonte, and the mouth of the Guadiana River.
The IHM delegation, accompanied by the Director-General of the IH, is visiting the REPMUS exercise taking place in Troia today.
