Hydrographic Institute celebrates National Sea Day with new Internet portal
The celebration of the National Sea Day originated in the "United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea", which entered into force on November 16, 1994. Portugal ratified the document in 1997.
This convention is very important because it is from there that the maritime limits inherent to the Exclusive Economic Zone and the Continental Shelf are established.
Portugal is a country strongly connected to the sea, being marked for the posteriority like the country of the maritime Discoveries.
The Hydrographic Institute celebrates the date with the presentation of its new portal on the Internet.
We hope you enjoy!
