Rapid Intervention Hydrographic Team conducts hydrographic survey in the Tejo estuary
On November 9, 2018, the Hydrographic Rapid Intervention Team (EHIR) conducted a hydrographic survey in the Tejo estuary to evaluate the safety conditions for the founding of the USS S. Truman aircraft carrier.
This mission took place on board the Fisália and Mergulhão vessels equipped with multibeam and lateral sonar for data acquisition.
In the photos that we present of this mission one can see the departure of the vessel Mergulhão of the Naval Base of Lisbon to the place of the survey, the preparation of the equipment for the acquisition of the data, the acquisition of the data on board and the result obtained from the data processing purchased.
EHIR is a team to the orders of Admiral Director General who expeditiously operationalize the multidisciplinary capacities of the Hydrographic Institute to face the most diverse scenarios.
