Director of EHO of the Hydrographic Institute participates in the IBSC Meeting in Singapore

The Commander Leonel Pereira Manteigas, Director of the School of Hydrography and Oceanography (EHO) of the Hydrographic Institute and representative of the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) at the International Board on Standards for Hydrographic Surveyors and Nautical Cartographers (IBSC), participated in the 2018 intermediate meeting.

This meeting, which took place from 3 to 9 November 2018, was hosted by the Maritime Authority and the Port of Singapore.

At this meeting the submissions of hydrography and nautical cartography courses from some institutions that had not been recognized at the previous meeting were discussed, a review of the documentation supporting submission preparation and additional documentation was developed to assist institutions in preparing submissions that may be recognized in the first submission.

The next meeting, which will have a record number of submissions, will be hosted by the United States' representative institution at the IHO, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and will take place in Honolulu, Hawaii, in 2019.
