National Sea Day 2023

Today we celebrate National Sea Day, a recognition of the sea that has, throughout history, become the identity of our nation.

For the Hydrographic Institute, this day signifies the renewal of a commitment to the pursuit of knowledge, study, research, and the preservation of our maritime resources. In the Portuguese Navy, the Hydrographic Institute fulfills its mission: "To know the sea so that everyone can use it."
