Commemorations of the Centennial of the South Atlantic Air Crossing
On the occasion of the celebrations of the Centenary of the South Atlantic Air Crossing, the 153rd birthday of Admiral Gago Coutinho was celebrated today, February 17th, at the Hydrographic Institute.
This ceremony, presided by the Sub-Chief of Staff of the Navy, Rear-Admiral Sousa Costa, was attended by several entities of the Navy, Air Force and Lisbon City Hall.
The event ended with the unveiling of a plaque alluding to the Centennial of the South Atlantic Air Crossing in the building where Admiral Gago Coutinho lived, and with the laying of a wreath at the monument in his honor, located in Avenida D. Carlos I.
