Galileo Campaign 2018 - 3rd. communicated
We are announcing here another news of the Galileo Campaign 2018 sent by Lieutenant Ventura da Cruz, Hydrographic Institute official:
"The vessel continued to provide logistical support and transport personnel between bases on the 24th. A team of investigators at the Byers camp was disembarked and support was provided for the installation of infrastructures, which has a special protection status due to concentration the highest vegetation and diversity of fauna.
On February 25, the ship arrived at Enseada Cierva, a place of singular beauty where the Argentine base "Primavera" is located. Researchers funded by the Portuguese Polar Program (ProPolar) were disembarked here.
In transits between bases, the acquisition of hydrographic data and seismic profiles with the onboard systems continues. "
