Wave Sines buoy is back operational.

After a period of inactivity, the wave Sines buoy is back operational.

The wave Sines buoy, which has been erected off the port of Sines since 1980, has allowed the characterization of the maritime agitation and surface temperature of the sea water in this place. Due to the inadvertent mooring cut, the float left its position on August 9, and a successful recovery mission was carried out on August 10, due to cooperation between the Hydrographic Institute, the Port of Sines, and the Police Maritime. After a maintenance period, it was refounded on September 03, using NRP Almirante Gago Coutinho and with the support of the oceanographic engineering team of IH.

The data are already available, in real time, on the page of IH http://www.hidrografico.pt/boias-ondografo.php.
