The Portuguese Cartographic Responsibility in Africa
An outreach article was published in the prestigious magazine “The International Hydrographic Review” published by the International Hydrographic Organization.
The article highlights the effort made by the Portuguese Navy and the Hydrographic Institute, in the present century, in conducting hydrographic surveys in order to update the nautical cartography of Portuguese-speaking African Countries, countries where Portugal is still recognized today as a Primary Cartographic Authority. At the same time, the training actions carried out for the development of hydrographic services in those countries are described.
