5.as Jornadas de Engenharia Hidrográfica began today at the Hydrographic Institute
On this first day, after the opening session, presided over by the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Navy, Vice Admiral Jorge Novo Palma, accompanied by the Director General of the Hydrographic Institute, Rear Admiral António Coelho Cândido, and by the President of the Laboratory National Energy and Geology, Eng. Teresa Ponce de Leão, the program was held with the sessions dedicated to the themes of Marine Technologies and Oceanography Engineering, Hydrography, Chemical Oceanography, Operational Oceanography and Geological Oceanography.
During this event, which was part of the World Hydrography Day, on June 21, this year, the theme "Bathymetry - the foundation for sustainable seas, oceans and waterways" is intended to provide the scientific community with the debate and new opportunities in research on hydrographic engineering issues, as well as in the areas that interact with it.
The 5th Hydrographic Engineering Conference will end on June 21. The closing session is scheduled for 16:15, which will be attended by distinguished guests.
