Assistant Secretary of State and National Defense visits the Hydrographic Institute
The Hydrographic Institute was visited by the Assistant Secretary of State and National Defense (SEADN), Dr. Jorge Seguro Sanches, at the Azinheira Hydrographic Base, this Thursday, October 14, 2021. The visit was also attended by Chief of Staff of the Navy and National Maritime Authority, Admiral Mendes Calado and of the General Director of Maritime Authority and General Commander of the Maritime Police, Vice Admiral Coelho Cândido.
During the visit, the IH SENSORTECH project was presented and a visit to the facilities was carried out.
The visit allowed to know the Maritime Instrumentation Center (calibration laboratory, electronics workshop, equipment magazine), the equipment spaces, the metalwork, the vessel pavilion, the Pombalino pavilion and the jetty, as well as the new facilities of the Maritime Police Tactical Actions Group.
At the end of the visit, the Director General of the Hydrographic Institute, Rear Admiral Ventura Soares, offered the SESDN a product of the Institute related to the nautical cartography of the Guadiana River.
