Hydrographic Institute hosts the 6th edition of the PiE Conference - Particles in Europe

The 6th edition of the PiE - Particles in Europe Conference will take place on October 14-17, 2018, at the Hydrographic Institute (IH), in Lisbon.

The Particles in Europe conferences, or PiE, are bi-annual events on the measurement, monitoring and management of particle size and in-situ sediment concentration in aquatic environments, bringing together experts from various fields with a common interest in particle dynamics, informal exchange meetings ideas and information.

The IH will receive renowned scientists in the area of acoustic sediment detection, among them Dr. Yogi Agrawal, who is in charge of the PiE conferences and the author of several articles in international magazines in the area of particle analysis by optical and acoustic methods.

This event will be attended by speakers of different nationalities: Australia, Belgium, Canada, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Israel, Italy, Holland, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Switzerland, Turkey, Kingdom United States and USA.

These meetings are always organized by the company Sequoia Scientific (headquartered in the state of Washington, USA, responsible for the development of LISST technology, among others) and a local organizer in Europe. In this edition, and after an online poll promoted by Sequoia, Portugal was chosen as the host country and IH as the welcoming entity of this conference.
