World Tsunami Awareness Day

Today, November 5th, is the World Tsunami Awareness Day. In this context, the Working Group on Tsunami Investigation, Monitoring and Early Warning (GT-IMAT), of the Portuguese Committee for the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (COI/UNESCO) – CP-COI, of which the Hydrographic Institute is a part - is promoting the dissemination of the attached leaflet, prepared by the European Center for Urban Risks (CERU), which includes information on what tsunamis are and the respective risk for Portugal, as well as useful information on early signs and what to do before, during and after such an event.
