Commemorations of the centenary of the Degree in Geographic Engineering | Geospatial

On the occasion of the commemorations of the centenary of the creation of the Degree in Geographic|Geospatial Engineering, the official launch of the book “100 Anos Engenharia Geográfica|Geospacial” took place on October 22 at a ceremony that took place at the premises of the Ordem dos Engenheiros ( OE). For this book, IH contributed an institutional article, at the invitation of the President of the OE and with a specialized technical article by Paula Sanches and Leonor Veiga.

Also within the scope of the commemorations, a Solemn Session was held at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon, organized in partnership with the OE, which had more than a hundred participants, including the main entities/institutions linked to this professional area. The program of this session included the testimony of institutions, including the Hydrographic Institute, and geospatial engineers trained by the Faculties of Science of the Universities of Lisbon, Porto and Coimbra.
