1st and 2nd Edition of the Sample Collection Course for maritime police officers

On September 25 and 26, 2018, were held the 1st and the 2nd Edition of the Sample Collection Course carried out for processes of contraordination for illicit marine pollution.

These editions of the course were intended for maritime police officers in the exercise of their functions, linked to the Maritime Department of the Center, and the first to be carried out in this area.
Other editions are already planned, which will extend to the remaining Maritime Departments until the end of the first quarter of 2019.

The course is taught in collaboration between the Hydrographic Institute PT (Division of Chemistry and Pollution of the Marine Environment) and the National Maritime Authority (Directorate for Combating Marine Pollution).
The topics are approached in a theoretical and practical way, focusing on the documentation in use in the area, the sampling techniques and material to be used for sampling the incident site and suspected sources and their chemical analyzes.
